It used to be, not that long ago, that when a theater announced its upcoming season of shows, it did so with a simple press release and an update of its website. These days, there tends to be a certain amount of hoopla necessary, and that’s just fine with us. Theater, after all, is theater, so why not make a New Season announcement a little THEATRICAL.

To that end, as the Announcement Season kicks off in the North Bay, 6th Street Playhouse will be the first up, with a big gala and fundraiser on Sunday, March 11. which will include the announcement of the theater’s upcoming shows in the 2018/2019 season, with live performances from some of them, and plenty of other onstage entertainment.

Word is, there will be a few surprises, and the announcement of a slight change in how the company’s season will unfold this year. In addition to the onstage activities in the G.K. Hardt Theater, there will be food (what they are calling “heavy hors d’ oeuvres in the lobby) before the show, and champagne and dessert after.
