Documentary filmmaker Katherine Parsons joined Steve Jaxon, Harry Duke, and Ky Boyd on the Rialto Cinemas Big Friday Movie Segment on The Drive with Steve Jaxon on KSRO for a discussion about her film The Fire Cats: Save Something Small, having its West Coast premiere on Sunday, August 14 at the Rialto Cinemas in Sebastopol.

The film first focuses on the efforts undertaken to rescue thousands of cats left behind during the Tubbs Fire in Sonoma County and the Paradise Fire in Butte County. It then examines the failings of government bureaucracies and organizations (particularly in the Paradise Fire) that were unable or unwilling to accept help from those experienced in such a rescue operation.
