Spreckels to announce new season at free celebration this weekend

Spreckels Performing Arts Center, in Rohnert Park, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this weekend with a free onstage musical event on Saturday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m. The show will feature “concert-style songs” showcasing some of Spreckels’ most popular and fondly remembered musicals, and will include a bit of a “look forward” to what Artistic Director Sheri Lee Miller has in store for audiences in the company’s 2019/20 season of plays.

The Saturday might show/announcement party will include an array of performers including Daniela Innocenti Beem (performing numbers from Follies and Willy Wonka), Tina Lloyd Meals (Little Women), Sean O’Brien (Titanic), Maureen O’Neill (1776), William O’Neill (South Pacific), Tim Setzer (Mary Poppins) and Sarah Wintermeyer (Peter Pan). Also sharing their talents on this special night are three members of the Spreckels Youth Ensemble: Madison Griego (Peter Pan), Elisabeth Petro (The Tailor of Gloucester) and Mario Herrera (The Addams Family). All singers will be accompanied by musician extraordinaire, Nancy Hayashibara (Musical director of South Pacific, and composer/performer with Hamlet).

Attendees will enjoy no-host concessions, beer, wine and “special treats,” all available at the Spreckels snack bar. The event is free, but donations to Spreckels Theatre Company will be gratefully accepted.
