Healdsburg Film Fest Seeks Housing for Filmmakers

The Healdsburg International Short Film Festival (HISFF) is looking for volunteers to provide housing for the filmmakers attending the 2025 festival, which takes place September 26-28. Hosts will enjoy meeting a remarkable collection of creative artists from all over the world and they’ll receive passes to individual screening blocks of the riveting collections of work presented in Healdsburg over that weekend.

HISFF is returning to Healdsburg’s iconic Raven Performing Arts Theater for its fourth year, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience in the heart of California wine country. Organized with support from the Healdsburg Center for the Arts (HCA), HISFF 2025 coincides with HCA’s Healdsburg Festival of the Arts, creating a vibrant, art-filled weekend.

Festival Co-director Pamela Demorest explained the call for host families by observing, “Many of our filmmakers are ‘starving artists’ and would not otherwise be able to stay in Sonoma County for the three-day festival. Hosts make it possible for filmmakers to present their work in person. In return, hosts get to know creative people from different cultures and generate enduring friendships. As if that isn’t enough, they’ll receive passes to festival screenings and events!”

People interested in hosting can sign up on the Raven Theater’s website at RavenTheater.org. The signup form can be found on the festival page at:
