‘The Birds’ – Main Stage West – April 6 – April 23
Forget Hitchcock. His Bodega Bay shocker was based on Daphne Du Maurier’s short story, the inspiration for this elegant, eerie tale of a possible future (and feathery) apocalypse, written by Conor McPherson (‘The Weir’) and directed by Beth Craven.

‘Bondage’ – Marin AlterTheater – March 23 – April 16
Star Finch’s stunning “afro-surreal” drama-ghost-story about two girls – one black, one white – raised as sisters on a pre-Emancipation plantation where Zuri will soon be expected to take her place as slave to Emily. It’s hard to explain what happens next, but it’s spectacular and poetic and savage and brilliant.
